Twin Cities activist, civil rights attorney, and professor Nekima Levy Armstrong has been doing justice-based work for years.
Levy Armstrong helped organize the earliest protests last year after the murder of George Floyd by ex-police officer Derek Chauvin.
Brightbeam CEO and Minnesota resident Chris Stewart notes, “Levy Armstrong is responsible for a great deal of what you see on TV about the organizing and the activating and mobilizing of community whenever there’s an injustice here in the Twin Cities. So you probably know about George Floyd, and Daunte [Wright], and Philando Castile and others, largely in part to work that Nekima has done.”
Just hours after the Derek Chauvin verdict was announced, Oprah had Levy Armstrong on “Oprah Daily” to discuss where we go from here.
