On Monday, August 31, Minnesota Parent Union, announced in advance of school starting next week a boycott of Minneapolis Public Schools. In a press statement released Monday on the Union’s Facebook page, parents say they are calling for a boycott because they have “yet to see any plan that makes sense and takes into full consideration the support and expectations this community has for our children’s future and education.”

The Union will host a press conference today, September 1 at 4:00 pm at MPS Davis center where they will discuss the demands and solutions that are available to families who strike. It will also be live streamed on Minnesota Parent Union’s Facebook page.

The strike will remain in effect until Superintendent Ed Graff and Minneapolis Public Schools meet the demands presented during today’s meeting.
